Soldiers die in Colombia bomb blast

Attack on army patrol is blamed on leftist Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia.

Thursday’s bomb blast is the second such attack in the last week.

 

Nine police officers were killed on Wednesday in a FARC bomb ambush in the northern Santander province while on a counter-narcotics operation.

 

Farc has been fighting for almost five decades against the government and far-right paramilitaries and partly funds itself through Colombia‘s cocaine industry.
