Chile is holding its first ever national presidential primary on Sunday.

The former president Michelle Bachelet is the clear frontrunner for the opposition.

But it’s a close call on who will lead the ruling conservative coalition.

More than two decades after Chile’s return to democracy, poverty is down and the economy is stable.

But the people are disillusioned with their politicians, leading to little enthusiasm for the primaries.
