Chronic malnutrition among Mexico’s poor

Seventy percent of Mexicans in Oaxaca state live in extreme poverty suffering from malnutrition or hunger.

President Enrique Pena Nieto declared a national campaign to end hunger shortly after taking office one year ago.

His country has one of the highest rates of poverty and malnutrition in the world.

In one of the country’s poorest states, 70 percent of the people still live in dire conditions suffering from malnourishment or hunger.
