Post-bankruptcy Detroit still suffering

Tens of thousands of homes stand abandoned despite talk of rebirth of one of America’s greatest industrial cities.

The US city of Detroit has emerged from bankruptcy and leaders are boasting about the city’s rebirth.

Many residents, however, say they feel forgotten and tens of thousands of homes remain abandoned despite officials’ efforts to rebuild communities.

It seems unlikely Detroit will ever recover its status as one of the world’s greatest industrial cities.
